Comment obtenir la deuxième DATE MAXIMALE dans MYSQL

Ce n'était pas amusant de lire votre requête, mais je pense que le problème est là :

LEFT JOIN (
  SELECT max(notification_date) notification_date, client_id
  FROM og_ratings
  WHERE notification_date NOT IN (
    SELECT max(notification_date)
    FROM og_ratings
)

si vous voulez la date maximale pour chaque client, vous devez GROUP BY client_id :

SELECT client_id, max(notification_date) notification_date
FROM og_ratings
GROUP BY client_id

si vous voulez le deuxième maximum il y a peu d'options, j'utilise celle-ci qui est plus facile à comprendre mais ce n'est pas forcément la plus performante :

SELECT client_id, max(notification_date) notification_date
FROM og_ratings
WHERE
  (client_id, notification_date) NOT IN (
    SELECT client_id, max(notification_date)
    FROM og_ratings GROUP BY client_id
  )
GROUP BY client_id

Troisième problème, vous utilisez un LEFT JOIN, ce qui signifie que vous renverrez toutes les valeurs de og_ratings, qu'elles soient ou non le deuxième maximum. Utilisez INNER JOIN sur ce contexte :
